Dementia is a general term for a decline in mental ability severe enough to interfere with daily . Alzheimer’s is a disease which attacks the brain and is the most common form of dementia.. This ‘Speaking from Experience’ program offers first-hand accounts from people who have been diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias and the people who care for them. They discuss the impact it has had on their lives and the ways in which they manage its effects. Many of the participants featured here are patient/caregiver partners including Kathleen & Ken, Janet & Joel, Billie & Patricia and Bill & Laurel.. 'Alzheimer’s Disease & Other Dementias' was produced in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California and Northern Nevada..
